CLI script for migration from .com to .eu
When switching regions as documented in https://support.1password.com/regions/ there are certain limitations:
Files can’t be copied across regions.
To copy a Document item, download the file...
I just did the migration from .com to .eu. It was pretty easy. I just setup a new account on .eu and added it to the 1password app. Then I highlighted all the entries in the .com account and tried to duplicate them to the .eu account. If there were any entries with saved files and custom icons, I wasn't be able to, so I had to go hunt down those entries by either memory or highlighting only half of the entries and seeing if the app would allow me to copy, and so forth and so on, then deal with each specific instance as necessary.
When my passwords were copied over, I contacted support and they were very responsive. I think the process was finished in less than a day. My new account was credited with my remaining balance and a pro-rated credit for the time left on my old account. The most hairy bit was where I had to verify that I would not need my old account anymore and had to delete it. I did a lot double checking.
Overall, this could have been easier. I don't see any reason why it shouldn't be possible to copy all entries from one account to another. But apart from that, everyone was very pleasant and fast.
I had a bunch of files saved in items that could actually just have been a text section. I will make more use of that in the future.
