I have a folder AccountExports that has dozens of files like 1Password Account Export 20200429-133615.zip in it from a few years ago. They seem to be spaced a week apart. Are they OK to delete? I have a subscription to 1Password so I assume I've got backups in the cloud. Looking at my 1Password Settings I don't see anything about automated backups or export.3Views0likes0CommentsSupport for Zen browser
Hi! There's this new browser called "Zen browser" It's based on Firefox but the 1password extension doesn't work with the desktop app 1Password Version: Not Provided Extension Version: Not Provided OS Version: Not Provided Browser: Not ProvidedSolved13KViews47likes140CommentsNative Password AutoFill Extension macOS
So one of the people in my family subscription for 1P relies heavily on iCloud Keychain. The nice piece about using the native autofill extension is entries from both show up together in-line. This happens on iOS (or if you use other password managers it secure by each provider but both are offered the same way together). in terms of migration and allowing those who wish to use both depending on the context. It would be nice to support the native autofill extension, but further it limits exposure or need for safari extension. Should someone not want to use or can't install the extension due to work policy or just rather not use safari extensions thanks. 1Password Version: 8.x Extension Version: Not Provided OS Version: macOS 12.6 Browser:_ Safari4.4KViews11likes116CommentsAdd Orion RC to list of apps that support universal autofill
The standard Orion browser app supports universal autofill, but for anyone that pays for Orion and gets access to Orion RC, universal autofill no longer works. This was mentioned on the Orion Feedback site here: https://orionfeedback.org/d/8673-1password-universal-autofill-works-in-regular-orion-but-not-in-rc A developer there said this is a 1Password issue and that Orion RC needs to be added to its list of identifiers. The macOS bundle identifier of the Orion RC browser is `com.kagi.kagimacOS.RC`. Can we please get this identifier added to 1Password in a future release?7Views0likes0CommentsCopying and Pasting Icons
I first commented on the subject of loosing the ability to copy and past icons in version 8, some four years ago. Since then I have mislaid my community login and password and so have reenrolled as a new user. I administer a family account. We have collectively, 7 x MAC desktops, 2 x Windows desktops, 7 x iPhones, 8 x iPads. The ability to create entries in 1Password with identical icons is important to all users. For those, less technically confident, the icon provides a secure and confident way to recognise entries - many within a shared vault. Individuals, when automatically offered the upgrade in their 1password app, thought, as instructed by me over many years, to keep their apps up to date for security reasons. Having upgrade their iPhones, iPads etc to version 8, the very first calls and emails to me, concerned the loss of the ability to copy and paste icons. Many thought it was a misunderstanding of the new version 8 - it wasn't. We still appear, not to have addressed this issue? As a consequence I had to uninstall everyones version 8 and reinstall versions 7. As I type this on a MAC desktop, I am the only user running version 8 on any device!! On my iPhone, I am running both versions, just so that I can utilise the 'copy and paste icon' facility. Although you have provide in version 8 a 'dropdown' below the icon (in edit mode) providing 'choose a photo' and 'choose a file' - neither of these provide a suitable resolution to version 7 'copy paste'. We use 1password in our family for everything, having spent years drumming into everyone the need to be secure and adhere to good password practices. I feel everyone is missing out on he update of version 8 JUST because of a 'copy and paste' issue. Please can you address this ASAP ? I'm sure that many have similar views even though the numbers may not reveal themselves in your community forum - Out of our family, I am the only community user, but they all have the same issue - their may well represent many other users who do not visit the community forum. Hello, Using 1Password 8.11.6 on macOS 15.6.1. Again, the app can no longer scan 2FA QR Codes. Nothing happens. No message, no error. I’ve completely uninstalled 1Password by following this guide, restarted my Mac and reinstalled 1Password: the issue is still present. Thank you21Views0likes2CommentsI'd like to persistently sort my Favorites by Title, but my Logins by Date Modified
I sort my Favorites by "Title, Alphabetically" because they're easier to find (I have 15 items in my Favorites). However, I like to sort my Logins by "Date Modified, Newest First" because that is how I can find my "oldest" items in Logins for verification (I have 721 items in my Logins). I can set these sorts up when I need them, but as I switch between viewing Favorites and Logins, my "preferred" sort order isn't maintained; there seems to be only one sort order setting that gets applied to all items in the sidebar. It would be great if each item in the sidebar would maintain its sort order so that returning to viewing Favorites, for instance, would always show them alphabetically by title, regardless of the sort order used for other items in the sidebar ("All Items," "Credit Cards," etc.). 1Password Version: 8.10.52 Extension Version: 8.10.52.25 OS Version: macOS 15.1 (24B83) Browser: Safari198Views2likes14CommentsHow do backups work?
Hello, First, apologies for all the threads I've been making. I just started using 1Password 8 and have questions. :-) How do backups work in 1Password 8? I know you can export as 1PUX and CSV files that are unencrypted, but does 1Password do encrypted backups like 1Password 6 did? I read this support article and it says everything in our 1Password account is backed up everyday. However I don't see anything related to backups in my account settings (both the Mac app and website versions). Can you please clarify how backups work? Thank you!33Views0likes2CommentsWatchtower and password ages
Hello, Watchtower is informing me of accounts that have 2FA available but not enabled. How does 1Password check to see if you have 2FA enabled on an account? I had an account and enabled 2FA and that account was still listed as not having 2FA enabled, even though it was. I then added a 2FA tag to the entry and it was removed from Watchtower. I then added a 2FA tag to another account that was in Watchtower where 2FA was available, but not enabled. I did not enable 2FA on the account, but did add 2FA tag to the entry and that caused it to disappear from Watchtower. Does Watchtower check the account somehow or does it just check to see if you have a 2FA tag on the entry? Not sure if other similar tags would give the same result. Also, does 1Password 8 have the feature where it has categories on the left side showing passwords that are 3, 6 etc. months old or 1-3 years old? Thank you!30Views0likes4CommentsChange the position where the icon is displayed in the field
Hello, From my point of view it would be great if could change the position where the 1Password icon in fields is displayed. I think a good position would be right outside of the box. The way it is now, I find it a rather user-unfriendly solution. I don't always use 1Password, and when I enter something manually like this, I never know if the last characters are correct. Maybe it says “.com” or maybe just “.co” or maybe “.com ” (with a space at the end) or maybe even a wrong letter because I mistyped it. So my suggestion would be that the 1Password icon should not appear in the field, because there is no way to verify it. This means you have to make the entry in another program (text editor or similar) and then transfer it using copy and paste. I find that quite tedious.14Views0likes1Comment
