  • Hi @markirwin,

    Thanks for writing in.

Do you have a license for 1Password 7 for Windows or a 1Password.com account?

Read-only mode occurs when you add a standalone vault to 1Password 7 and you don't have a paid license to use it. We do not have a free version of 1Password.

I received an email with this msg after signing up "You’re all signed up! Now’s a great time to get the apps so you can sign in to your 1Password account from anywhere."

  • Hi @markirwin,

That's the 1Password account, it sounds like you haven't sign in to your new 1Password account yet.

    Here's how:

    1. In your browser, sign in to your account on https://my.1Password.com.
    2. Click your account name in the top right and choose Get the Apps.
    3. Scroll down to step 2 and click the blue button labeled Add your account details and then 1Password should open up asking for your master password.

After that, you should be signed in and the read-only message will go away.
