Any change with Microsoft Authenticator and 1Password TOTP?

It was stated previously that 1Password TOTP won't work with MS Authenticator? Is there any change? There has been some changes with MS Authenticator which now supports a Recover Mode (Android or iOS). It did not before.

We're unable to generate codes for Microsoft's proprietary 2FA. We can generate TOTP compliant codes. Only Microsoft Authenticator can do their proprietary 2FA. Microsoft Authenticator can also generate TOTP compliant codes.

Basically: for Microsoft accounts Microsoft Authenticator is doing something unique that isn't available to 3rd party accounts/apps. So, 1Password can't do it. The Microsoft Authenticator app and 1Password both can generate TOTP codes, but Microsoft accounts don't use TOTP for 2FA.
