Samsung Galaxy book Chromebook fingerprint to unlock android app

hey guys I am using a Samsung Galaxy book Chromebook and I'm quite disappointed that the fingerprint reader does not open 1password X but I was wondering if it would open the Android app with a fingerprint instead. I kind of understand the challenges of coding the fingerprint reader to open 1password X but I thought using the android app would be a better solution then nothing at all on this chromebook. Does anybody have any thoughts?

  • Hi @guyssocialweb.

As far as I know, Chrome OS only allows fingerprints to be used to unlock the device, but does not allow for 3rd party apps to use it, I'm afraid. I haven't seen any recent news indicating otherwise, so I don't believe this has changed yet, I'm afraid.

For now, I'd recommend enabling a PIN code to unlock 1Password on your Chromebook, as it will make it easier to unlock while you're switching back and forth.
