I‘m also interested in the issues you have when setting up 1Password @wildthing . I didn‘t have any problems... 🤔

Yes, you can remove "1Password" like every program.

    (Sorry for German screenshot)

    Hope it works...

My OS is Windows 10 Pro, 64 bit Dell. Still nothing happens when the 1 password screen comes up. Very annoying because I have to exit the 1 password screen each time before entering my application password.

What does this mean? Do you mean the popup when installing the Windows app? Or do you mean the popup down in the systray when 1Password is installed, and you want to open it?

Here is a screenshot of what comes up everytime. I don't want to see this.

  • @wildthing

Read Only would indicate that you have not applied a membership (or license) to your account. Can you confirm that that has been done? If that's done, perhaps you have not enabled our helper.

Open 1Password > Preferences > Browsers and enable our extension helper.

There is no helper in the Browser setting windows.

Sorry, Mac user here. It should be an option if you are using a Mac. Perhaps I missed a comment about Windows, if so, my apologies.

Edit: I see that now. :frown: Sorry for the noise.

You mention a help manual but where is it? I tried to delete 1Password and start over but no joy! Something is very, very wrong here. I want to start from scratch.

I think you might have forgotten to attach the screenshot. Can you give that another try?

WHY IS 1PASSWORD SO DIFFICULT TO SET UP???? I CAN'T EVEN DELETE FROM MY COMPUTER AND START FROM SCRATCH. DO I HAVE TO EDIT SOMETHING IN THE WINDOWS REGISTRY? CAN I GET A NEW MASTER PASSWORD OR KEY???

I think your keyboard is broken...

Just uninstall "1Password" like every other program you would uninstall from Windows 10. After you uninstalled it please look into the following folder "%userprofile%\AppData\Local". If there is still a folder "1Password" in it please delete it.

Now you should be able to start from scratch.

Did what you suggested but did not help. Keyboard not broken. Every other program and app works perfectly. Guess I'll have to find another password program. Cheers, and Happy New Year.

Can you please tell again what exactly is the problem? You wanted to post some screenshots here, but there are none. :(
I'm not able to help... Sorry.
Maybe someone from 1Password has another idea to help you.

Just for your information, in case others run into this situation. You cannot completely remove 1password without going into the Windows Registry and eliminating about 7 references.

    Thanks.

I just found a setting in the Windows app. Maybe this setting deletes all the registry entries too. Don't know...

But therefor you must be able to start the Windows app.

    @wildthing:

Can you please post the screenshot of the error message that you are seeing? I think it would be very useful to understand exactly where you are getting stuck. Thank you!
