Issues with FireFox native messaging, need suggestions

The extension and the app are unable to communicate -- port keeps getting disconnected. Looking for suggestions of things to check. This happens both on my M1 MacBook Air and my Windows 10 Work PC.

This was working with Brave & Chrome (Release and Beta) on both my Mac and my PC. The only change has been trying FireFox 89.

I do modify my about:config to disable some things, and that may be the common link. I've searched all of my changes and nothing seems to be related to Native Messaging or extensions, so that's why I'm here.

    Is this happening even after you enabled the communication with the desktop app in the extension's preferences?
