When updating a password, can the old password be saved?

Whenever I update a password, the flow is:

  1. go to the site
  2. confirm old password
  3. save new password in 1password (overwrites the old one)
  4. save new password in the site

If step 4. fails for any reason, then I lose access to my account because the old password is no longer saved. I would prefer if 1password saves a "history" of one old password when updating so I don't lose access to my account in the event of a failure to update.

@danieltashjian You don't mention how you're accessing 1Password. The Android, iOS and Windows apps and 1password.com allow you to view previously used passwords. However, they are not visible from the browser extensions.

I am using the iOS app. I had tried to find a way to view the old passwords but didn't find it. I just checked again and found it under the drop down menu. My mistake, thank you.

  • Thanks for the update @danieltashjian. Glad to hear you were able to find the desired info. Thanks for the assist here, @rootzero!
