Use of Dropbox - does not update

Hi, I just installed 1pw today. Apparently it noticed I use dropbox, so a file was created there. My data is stored elsewhere though, and since installation the file in dropbox has not updated. hence I cannot see any of the data I have entered on the iphone app. Why is this? Should I delete the data file stored elsewhere (or rather move it to dropbox)? Should the file location in preferences point at the dropbox location?

For Dropbox syncing to work your data folder needs to be located in your Dropbox folder. If it isn't then it will not sync. Are you saying you have two different data folders? What is the path listed in 1Password's preferences on the General tab? Here is my own as an example:
