Hi @Jotamac, I'm sorry that you've encountered some issues with the browser extension. So that we may best help, can you share a little more information on the problem?
For example:
- What about the extension isn't working? Are you unable to sign into the extension, does it not auto-fill passwords correctly, or is something else amiss?
- What browser are you using?
- What MacOS version are you on? (If you're not sure, you can find this by going to the Apple icon in your menu bar at the top of the screen, then About This Mac > Overview. The version will be listed there).
Thank you, and we look forward to assisting you with this!

Hi @PeterG_1P
I downloaded 1Password for Safari and when I open it, it tells me to open Safari preferences. The button does not do it so I simple went to preferences and opened it. Then under extensions, where I used to have the old 1P 7 which I uninstalled, I do not find 1P 8 as an option so I cannot select it. I must have missed a turn somewhere. My OS is up to date and Safari is 15.5
I had no problem installing it on Edge...0 -
Forget it @PeterG_1P, I opened the app and under the help menu 'troubleshooting' found "Fix the missing Safari extension" which did the trick!
Many thanks!0 -
Hi @Jotamac - thank you for letting us know that the "fix" button worked for you (excellent news!). We are working on providing a more comprehensive fix to this going forward, and it's great to hear that the button resolved the issue here. And as always, we're on hand if you have questions or could use any further help. 👋
