One-Click Bookmarks Dead?

The upgrade to version 8 has broken the dozens of one-click bookmarks I use daily in Safari. I can see no way to correct this, and am unable to create new bookmarks to replace the old ones. (Dragging from 1Password to Safari's bookmarks simply doesn't work.)

Has this feature been dropped? Egaads… It's the primary reason I use 1Password. I'm actually rather startled by just how big an imposition this is - I hadn't realized just how dependent on this feature I am. I've written it into dozens of macros, all of which now fail.

1Password Version: 8.8.0
Extension Version: 2.3.7
OS Version: macOS 12.5.1
Browser:_ Safari 15.6.1

The bookmarks are not part of 1Password 8. We hope that you'll give Quick Access a look and perhaps you'll find it useful.

Thanks for the quick concise reply. I'm using Quick Access, but I'm afraid I find it a poor substitute for my previous use of one-click bookmarks. In particular, it isn't scriptable.

Me three. I would drag the bookmark to a folder in my documents folder and use those bookmarks in Shortcuts. I have no doubt I could work around this, at least in a manner of speaking, but that would mean I have to rewrite an awful lot of shortcuts.

I've had a look, but am unclear on two things:

    • How to execute a command line script using a browser bookmark.
    • How to persuade the CL to autofill an existing entry.
