I have install the latest version of 1Password and the extension for Safari does not install itself. There is no 1Password extension file in the application folder like I was told to verify and also I did tried the correct the extension by going in the help section of 1Passord and lastly I did reinstalled 1Password completely, still no extension appearing in Safari but it does appear in Chrome. Another think I noticed which is annoying, every time I look in the preferences pane of 1password to install extension in browser for Safari, it always redirect me to the apps store.

1Password Version: 8.8.0
Extension Version: Not Provided
OS Version: Mac OS 12.5.1
Browser:_ Safari

  • Hi @Gaetcha,

Sorry to hear about your experience so far, though it sounds like you're on the right track! The 1Password browser extension for Safari is only available through the Mac App Store: 1Password for Safari on the Mac App Store

Once installed there, you'll see an app called 1Password for Safari in your device's Applications folder. You won't need to open this app, but you do need it on your device. You can then open Safari's Preferences, and under the Extensions section, look for 1Password for Safari. Enable it by checking its box:

Let me know how that goes and if you can see the 1Password icon on your Safari toolbar after doing this! 🙂

Thank you, finally I have it in Safari. It was not very evident to do it this way.

    Cordially,
