3 years agoEach time I open 1Password I get an email about a new log in. How can I stop this?
Each time I open the 1 Password App or Quick access, I get an email that there was a new log in.
This is super annoying and does nothing for security of my account.
How can I stop it?
There has to be a way to opt out of this.

@Dub
Are you clearing your browser history from within Safari? It seems like that may be the case. Because of the way Safari clears its history, it removes the indicator that the browser has been used before. Because of this, you receive a new email because, in essence, it is considered a new use. The team is looking into this in the hopes we alleviate this.
The workaround at this time is not to clear your history.

Thank you for your response. Highly appreciated.
I always browse in Private Mode, and I believe the history is automatically cleared when you close a window. I will check that out, and not clear my history as a temporary workaround.
I never had this problem with version 7, so I hope this gets fixed in version 8 soon.

I just tested it and you are correct. It is clearing the history that causes the. problem.

Hi @Dub:
Glad to hear that we were able to get to the bottom of it. As Tommy mentioned, for the time being your best bet would to be avoid clearing Safari's history on a frequent basis.
