Is there an ability to sync between Windows, iOS and MacOS versions as yet?
I can't find any recent update to the question about syncing between Windows, iOS and MacOS. I have latest versions of all and have updated 1Password also to latest version (which also seems to be quite a process).
The sync function probably should be an option to turn on or off as some people might not want this to be automatic, which was also an earlier suggestion from another user.
It would be good if there was an option to sort questions in Community Support to most recent - maybe there is but it's not obvious. Also, it doesn't seem possible to put multiple categories into the question, so I have only posted as a Windows question, but this should be replicated to iOS and MacOS

Same question. I tried to install iCloud from Apple because I use 1Password on my phone but cannot find a way to choose or locate the vault in Windows.

Hi @bilgolajon and @nciiis
If you're using 1Password 8, you'll have a 1Password membership, which will sync everything to all of your devices. There's no need to setup anything separate like iCloud or Dropbox, since we take care of all the syncing for you.
After you're signed in with your 1Password account on each of your devices, everything from it will appear everywhere. If you see any items on one device but not another, they're probably in an old "Primary" vault, which isn't part of your 1Password account. In those cases, you should Migrate your existing 1Password data from standalone vaults to a 1Password account.
Should you run into any trouble doing this migration, feel free to email us at

for individual help, or you can ask here for questions which aren't account-specific. :)— Grey

I'm not using a 1Password membership, I am using local vaults because I thoroughly hate memberships like this and prefer to pay money up front for licenses (even though it may cost more).

Thanks for the info. I shall give this a go next week and see whether I can get this to work.
