macOS Menu Bar Icon Position Not Preserved

Every time 1PW 8 for Mac starts up, the icon appears at the far left, not remembering where it was previously rearranged to. This is particularly an issue in a couple cases:

  • When using a MacBook with a number of menu bar icons where icons to the left become inaccessible behind the notch
  • When using a utility like Hidden Bar to clean up the menu bar (maybe to avoid the notch issue); especially when using the "always hidden" option, it makes the icon entirely inaccessible

The issue has been reported previously during beta, but I want to bring it back up to lend another voice to the need for this to be fixed:

(This is yet another reason that the 1PW8 launch is so disappointing for me. There just seem to be so many feature regressions from 1PW7 and a turnaround from the quality and attention to detail that always set 1PW head and shoulders above other password managers. I'd love to see a return to a focus on the fundamentals.)

  • Hello @scottsb! 👋

Thank you for following up. This is still something that our developers have in the backlog to look into and I've added your comments to the internal work item open for the issue so that they're aware of how the behaviour is affecting your workflow.

This issue has persisted for so long and has been brought up many times in the past, in my opinion at this point it's reflecting poorly on the perceived quality of your software. I have never encountered a piece of software with this issue before, let alone one I pay a subscription fee for.

It feels like sloppy work and I think you should escalate this issue, considering it has been reported several times over a duration of more than a year.

I've passed along your feedback to the development team and added it to the internal work item open for the issue as well.

While I'm not able to say when we'll be able to resolve this issue, I can tell you that we're aware that it's something in need of fixing. Thank you for your patience.
