Trouble unlocking 1P with password instead of Touch ID
Hello all!
I have a MacBook with Touch ID, which I often use with an external keyboard/display.
When the MacBook is shut, I can unlock 1P with my master password, as normal.
When it is open, I can use Touch ID to unlock, as normal.
However, I sometimes prefer to unlock with password (on the external keyboard), even while the MacBook is open. So when the Touch ID unlock dialog appears, I select "Use Account Password" – it opens the 1P master password prompt (with focus, so I can fill it in and unlock) – but it unnecessarily opens the Touch ID dialog again on top of it.
This happens anytime I try to unlock 1P, whether via browser or directly. It also happens on two different MacBooks, both M1s (Pro and Air).
A screen capture is available here.
Is there something I can do to mitigate this (other than disabling Touch ID with 1P), or might this be a bug?
Many thanks in advance!
