1P8 favorites on iOS 16 on iPad

Perhaps I am missing something, but I can’t find a way to scroll through my favorites with a scrolling interface on the iPad app.
I can scroll through "all items" but I can't scroll through just the favorites like on 1p7, and I want to replicate this on the iPad. It sort of works on 1p8 for iPhone, when I click home and favorites. However, in the home tab on the iPad, I get a table-like arrangement for the favorites. If I click on one of these items, it doesn't just scroll through the favorites but it only takes me directly to the "all items" list. Of course, if there is a way to pin favorites to the left menu, it'd be the best case but can't do that (I think).
Does anyone know how to do this? Or is it just a restriction of the interface?
