1Password for iPadOS 8.10.18 81018040
iPadOS 17.0.3

1Password works fine and requests TouchID for access through Safari. When I try access through an App to login it requires full 1Password password to access 1Password. This just started recently. Why does it not use TouchID when using an App?

  • Hello @kvozel! 👋

I'm sorry that Touch ID isn't working to unlock 1Password when filling into another app. Before you can use Touch ID to unlock 1Password for filling and saving in another app, you have to use your account password to unlock the main 1Password app itself.

    1. From the home screen of your iPad open the 1Password app.
    2. Use your account password to unlock the app.
    3. Tap your account or collection at the top of the sidebar and tap Lock.
    4. Make sure that you can unlock the main 1Password app using Touch ID.

Then try to fill or save a login inside of another app: Use 1Password to save logins and sign in to apps and websites on your iPhone and iPad

If Touch ID still isn't working then please let me know. 🙂

    Dave,

I updated to iPadOS 17.1 last night and everything now works. Thanks for your response though.

For your reference should someone else report an issue...

....Unlocking 1Password with TouchID worked fine
....Unlocking 1Password after activation from Safari worked fine with TouchID
....Unlocking 1Password required a password after activation from an App.

I'm happy to hear that updating to the latest version of iOS got things working for you again. 🙂
