Auto lock time for ios safari extension
I have the Mac desktop app and Mac Safari extension time out linked to be 1 minute and the iOS app to auto lock immediately, for security yet the minimum auto lock time for the iOS version of the Safari extension seems to be 15 minutes. Is there a reason this minimum time is so long compared to all the others? Or why there's no consistency between all the apps and extensions?
Especially on a mobile device 15 minutes seems way too long. If someone happens to snatch my phone out of my hand whilst it's unlocked all someone needs to do is keep the phone alive to gain access to every single password I've ever created. This seems like a massive security issue. Are there plans to reduce this lock out time? Ideally I'd like it to match the iOS auto fill feature and require biometric unlock every single time I want a password auto filled otherwise I'm just going to have to disable the iOS Safari extension, which would be a shame as it's otherwise excellent.

Thanks @jayhouse
I'll get a feature request before the team for the iOS extension to share the same lock settings. I'm afraid I do not know of any plans, but it's also entirely possible that something already exists and a team is working on it. That feature request is to ensure your voice is heard.

Any update on this? I cannot understand why standard setting is 1 hour and minimum 'only' 15 minutes.
I would like to have it at least at 1 minute and/or the chance to lock it direct after usage.
Why leave the door that much open?
Or maybe a setting to lock the extension when locking the phone!

Hi @dragon1, thanks for reaching out!
I don't have any news to share regarding this feature request, but I've gone ahead and shared your feedback with our Product team to take into consideration.
In the meantime, you can manually lock the 1Password for Safari extension on iOS using the following steps:
- Tap the puzzle icon in the Safari address bar.
- Tap 1Password.
- Tap the menu icon to the right of the search field.
- Tap Lock 1Password.
Let me know if there's anything else I can help with!

Hi David,
thanks for the feedback. That's very complicated.
As this feature request is quite old from my side (from the beginning of bringing out the extension) can you tell, why you only have a min. of 15 minutes here?

I agree with jayhouse and dragon1, I feel like it’s an important security issue here. Would love to be able to set the auto-lock to „immediately” or a shorter period like 1 minute.
Locking the vault manually is the only solution for now, but there is a big chance you will forget to do it at some point - leaving the vault wide open if someone manages to snatch your phone.

Thanks for taking the time to add your feedback @bannanna01 - I've filed a feature request so that it can be seen by the relevant team.

Can someone of 1PW explain, why the auto-lock is at minimum of 15 minutes? Any real explanation?

I believe that the "Reauthorize After" options were set with usability in mind so that you could use 1Password for Safari on iOS without being prompted to unlock 1Password constantly.
The team is currently revisiting this feature and hope to release improvements in a future update. If the 15 minute time period doesn't work for you then, as a workaround for now, you can turn off 1Password for Safari and use Password AutoFill to fill and save logins from 1Password instead as it uses a different lock timer: Use 1Password to save logins and sign in to apps and websites on your iPhone and iPad
