Constantly being asked for my master password

Brand new user from LastPass. I just installed 1Password on my Windows 10 desktop yesterday. Every time I make ANY change to one of my entries, I get asked to enter my master password. EVERY TIME! I can just hit ESC and the change is saved. But EVERY TIME.

It has to be a setting somewhere because no way this is expected behavior. But I've looked everywhere that I know of. And yes, I have browsed through past questions and found similar questions, but they are older.

1Password Version: 8.10.30
Extension Version: 2.23.3
OS Version: Windows 10
Browser: Chrome

    Hello @jsebol! 👋

Welcome to 1Password! I'm sorry that 1Password is prompting you for your account password more often than you'd expect. You can change how often 1Password locks (and so requires your account password) by following these steps:

    1. Open and unlock 1Password for Windows.
    2. Click your account or collection at the top of the sidebar and click Settings.
    3. Click Security.
    4. Set the auto-lock settings to your desired values.

You can read more about auto-lock here: How to set 1Password to lock automatically

You can also enable Windows Hello for 1Password so you can can unlock 1Password using your face or fingerprint rather than having to type in your account password each time: Use Windows Hello to unlock 1Password on your Windows PC

    I hope that helps! 🙂

The thing is, the application isn't locked at all. I can be in the application and make a change to one of the entries, and it asks for the password (see attached screenshot). And no matter how many entries I edit one after the other, I get the same pop-up. Or I can have it open, go to a site and change a password, and I'm taken back to 1Password where it shows the same thing. Again, I can just close that dialogue box and the information is saved, but I have to have something configured wrong.

    @jsebol

Thanks for the reply. The screenshot shows that your account isn't authenticated in the 1Password for Windows app so any changes that you make in the app may not be synced to 1Password.com and to your other devices. So that I can better understand the situation, I'd like to ask you to create a diagnostics report from your Windows PC:

    Sending Diagnostics Reports (Windows)

Attach the diagnostics to an email message addressed to support+forum@1password.com.

    With your email please include:

    Please send the entire file.

You should receive an automated reply from our BitBot assistant with a Support ID number. Please post that number here. Thanks very much!

    Dave - My ticket ID = AQD-84613-228.

I should also add that I originally created an account at work, then created a personal account, and then associated it with my work account. Not sure if that helps at all.

Thank you for posting the Support ID. Please continue the conversation with my colleagues over on the support team via email.

To prevent duplication of efforts I'm closing this thread.
