Why is Item search is taking so long?
Item search is very helpful except lately there has been an issue.
When you click the magnifying glass icon to search for an item 1Password lets you type in the first character of the item you're searching for and then no more typing. The system hangs for about 15 seconds and then allows you to type more characters into the search window.
The keyboard will continue to store the characters in memory but the entire search term doesn't display. Only the first character. Then after about 15 seconds the whole search term instantly appears in the search window.
The search feature is helpful if you have a lot of logins stored but why is this happening?

I'm sorry that you're seeing slowness in 1Password when searching. Please update to 1Password for Android version 8.10.38 which includes improvements to search performance: How to keep 1Password up to date
If you still see the issue after updating then please let me know.

My wife has the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5. I have the OnePlus Open. On both of our phones, we're seeing identical behavior. Open the app and search. It takes several seconds to populate results to the point where either it didn't capture keystrokes at all, or it did, but just takes an insane amount of time to finish. It's about unusable at times. Anyone else experiencing this and know of a way to fix this?

I'm sorry for the inconvenience the issue has caused. We’ve made some search performance improvements for accounts that have a large amount of items in the latest beta version of 1Password. If you're interested in helping us test the fix then you can switch to the beta using these steps:
If you choose not to try the beta version then that's okay, once testing of the improvements is complete in the beta our developers plan to introduce the same improvements to the stable version as soon as possible.
