New Zscaler web login for admins Zidentity stopped working

I manage a number of Zscaler cloud instances for different customers, and I have been successfully using 1Password on my MacBook Air using Safari for a long time.

Over the last year or so a new IdP (Identity Provider) called ZSLogin has been added by Zscaler in order to centralize logins on their different cloud-based services.

In a nutshell, an administrator has to log in first on ZSlogin and then will be able to use SSO to access the different admin GUI for ZPA, ZIA, ZDX, and Client Connector portal.

Until last week the GUI for ZSlogin worked flawlessly, including TOTP.

Last week Zscaler started to implement the new GUI reflecting the name change from ZSlogin to Zidentity, the new name for the same feature, and things broke.

The username screen works fine, here is the new look and feel:

After inserting the username with the 1Password browser extension, then a new screen with the request for the password appears, and when using 1Password to fill in the password, something breaks and the username input page comes up again, and I am stuck in a loop.

If, OTOH, I manually copy and paste the password from 1Password Desktop into the Zidentity password field, then things works, so it's not a matter of a changed password.

This is the password request screen:

I presume I need to open a support ticket, nonetheless I wanted to ping the community to see if anyone has been having issues with password request screens looping back to the username request screen and being caught in a loop.

Many thanks,

Luca

1Password Version: 8.10.40
Extension Version: 2.27.1
OS Version: macOS 13.6.9

Let me add a comment based on the additional testing that I have just done.

It looks like the issue is caused by the browser extension and its timing with the web page requesting the password.

I have tried to troubleshoot the issue by turning off the "Sign in automatically after autofill" option in the configuration of the browser extension like so:

and things now are working, but I obviously have to click thru to the TOTP request page manually, and likewise I have to accept the TOTP manually before I eventually am logged in.

Ideally I would like to see the autofill work fine, but there seem to be some issue with the new HTML or JS code on the Zidentity login and password page, and this breaks autofilling by the browser extension.

This is the version of the browser extensions that I am currently using:

What might be causing the password entry issue?

    Many thanks,

    Luca

Quick update, I found another thread on this forum with very interesting discussions from other users who have been facing similar issues on other web pages:

    https://1password.community/discussion/146233/new-autofill-automation-disconcerting

I have followed the advice given in the thread and have used the "Don't sign in automatically" option in order to still use the autofill option where it works, and stop using it on the problematic web pages such as the Zscaler one mentioned in this thread.

    Many thanks,

    Luca

  • Hello @lucaberta68! 👋

I'm sorry that you're unable to sign into Zscaler's web login when 1Password is enabled. So that we can get this fixed, could you please send the page structure of the password page in question to our support team? Follow these steps:

    1. Open the website in question until you can see the page with the password field.
    2. Right-click on the page and click "1Password - Password Manager" > Help > Collect Page Structure.

Attach the resulting JSON file to an email message addressed to support+forum@1password.com.

    With your email please include:

You should receive an automated reply from our BitBot assistant with a Support ID number. Please post that number here. Thanks very much!
