1Password for Safari not communicating with the desktop app [FIXED]
Both the extension and the app are updated and at current versions.
Have tried various combinations of quitting browser + app, and toggling / untoggling the "Integrate this extension with the 1Password desktop app" and "Connect with 1Password in the browser" settings in the extension / app, respectively.
Have toggled on and off the "Allow in the background" setting in System Settings->General
Still getting "Status: Problems connecting 🟠. Please make sure the 1Password app is unlocked." 100% of the time when using the extension, and no option for TouchID
BEYOND frustrated at this point. I just want to use TouchID on my browser extension!

This is not an update problem ... it is actually a problem with the code-signing certificate for the 1Password Safari extension, which expired sometime earlier today. The expiration of the certificate has caused the main 1Password application to deny attempts by the Safari extension to connect with it. Hopefully this will be fixed soon!!!

I have the same problem. Must be a bug.
And somehow the bugs in 1Password are getting more and more frequent. - NBGOccasional Contributor
Hi there, I am getting the following error in Safari. Because of it, I have to type my password into the browser every time, even when the app is open.
When the extension and the desktop app are connected, they lock and unlock together. Biometrics will be used if available. [Status: Problems connecting . Please make sure the 1Password app is unlocked.]

I just recently had an update (at this point with your lovely track record of updates and issues lately I am going to be turning off auto updates once I get a working version again. that or I may start looking for different software.) and I have two issues happening:
- The 1Password for Safari is constantly asking me for my passsword
- After a reinstall of 1Password for Safari it will not connect to my local app that is open and unlocked. It is asking me to connect to 1Password website with my credentials instead of using the local app (for which I have the options in the app to "Connect with 1Password in the Browser" and in the extension (Integrate this extension with 1Password desktop app)

Hi DiovanLuidi & elkodsi ,
We have identified the connection issue happening between the 1Password for Safari web extension and the 1Password for Mac desktop app. Currently, 1Password for Safari has to be unlocked separately from the desktop app due to the issue. I'm sorry about the inconvenience and confusion it caused.
Our developers are looking into the issue so hopefully, a fix will be patched soon. Meanwhile, the connection should be working in other supported browsers, such as Chrome, Edge or Firefox.

Hi everyone! JerrySG dragon1 asrob BrainD tetardbleu dcrdev JasonN dtoub
Apologies for the silence over the last day since Kevin provided you all with an update on this issue in 1Password for Safari. Today is Labor Day in the US & Canada which meant most of my colleagues have been away from their computers over this long weekend.
The good news is that the development team have identified the root cause of the issue that randomly broke the integration between 1Password for Safari and the desktop app and are working on getting a fix out as soon as possible. This wasn't due to a bug in an new update by 1Password or macOS so no faulty updates are at play here.
There's some final things for the team to check over once folks come back into the virtual office from tomorrow but you can keep an eye out for developments on the 1Password Status website: 1Password Status - SLS not working in Safari.
This hiccup in the integration only affects 1Password for Safari which means you can continue using it and unlock your 1Password account manually each time Safari closes and reopens until the fix is available. Alternatively, you can temporarily switch over to another browser where the 1Password browser extension integration to the desktop app is still working as expected.

While looking at the 1Password for Safari settings I am setting a message appear under the option to connect with app:
Status: Problems connecting. Please make sure the 1Password app is unlocked.FYI: it is unlocked
