1Password for Safari not communicating with the desktop app [FIXED]
Both the extension and the app are updated and at current versions.
Have tried various combinations of quitting browser + app, and toggling / untoggling the "Integrate this extension with the 1Password desktop app" and "Connect with 1Password in the browser" settings in the extension / app, respectively.
Have toggled on and off the "Allow in the background" setting in System Settings->General
Still getting "Status: Problems connecting 🟠. Please make sure the 1Password app is unlocked." 100% of the time when using the extension, and no option for TouchID
BEYOND frustrated at this point. I just want to use TouchID on my browser extension!

Restart did not help. Macbook Pro is updated as well. I am referring to the extension on the Safari bar. It had been working previously. Touch ID is turned on in System Settings.

Hello @nosequepasa! 👋
I'm sorry that you're unable to unlock 1Password using Touch ID. So that I can better understand the situation can you tell me the following:
- What version of the desktop app is installed? Are you able to unlock the desktop app using Touch ID?
- Can you unlock the Mac itself using Touch ID?
I look forward to hearing from you. 🙂

This was all working fine until today - the Safari browser extension would unlock with my Apple Watch and was integrated with the 1Password app. After rebooting my Mac earlier today, the 1Password app unlocks with my watch but the Safari browser extension prompts for my password each time I run Safari.
I also have Chrome and Firefox installed and their 1Password extensions DO unlock with the Apple Watch and are integrated with the 1Password app. It's just the Safari extension that isn't integrated. When I open the Safari 1Password extension settings I see the following:
Toggling the setting makes no difference - I still see that error.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled the Safari extension but it makes no difference.
Anything else I can try?
1Password Version: 8.10.40
Extension Version: 2.27.1

I just recently had an update (at this point with your lovely track record of updates and issues lately I am going to be turning off auto updates once I get a working version again. that or I may start looking for different software.) and I have two issues happening:
- The 1Password for Safari is constantly asking me for my passsword
- After a reinstall of 1Password for Safari it will not connect to my local app that is open and unlocked. It is asking me to connect to 1Password website with my credentials instead of using the local app (for which I have the options in the app to "Connect with 1Password in the Browser" and in the extension (Integrate this extension with 1Password desktop app)

While looking at the 1Password for Safari settings I am setting a message appear under the option to connect with app:
Status: Problems connecting. Please make sure the 1Password app is unlocked.FYI: it is unlocked

Same problem here.

Yes, I posted about this earlier - glad it's not just me. I spent a few hours trying all sorts of things, including completely removing 1Password app and Safari extension and all associated settings, etc. and reinstalling from scratch. Nothing has made any difference.
The Chrome and Firefox extensions are still integrated with the 1Password app.

I can confirm that I also tried reinstalling the extension and 1Password. I also tried restarting the browser and 1Password and my laptop. I can also confirm that Chrome is working just fine.

Safari extension 2.27.1 asks for password after sleep even though "Lock on sleep, screensaver, or switching users" is set to off.
1Password Version: 8.10.40

Add another user with the same problem.

TouchID only works for 1Password app, but doesn't work for the Safari plug in. Extremely inconvenient.
It worked before now it doesn't work. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

seeing this weird issue.

This is not an update problem ... it is actually a problem with the code-signing certificate for the 1Password Safari extension, which expired sometime earlier today. The expiration of the certificate has caused the main 1Password application to deny attempts by the Safari extension to connect with it. Hopefully this will be fixed soon!!!

Thank you, @shrimppesto, for identifying the cause of the problem so I don't waste more time in futile efforts to solve it.
EDIT: Have you notified 1Password about this or do we just wait until they happen to read your comment?

I did e-mail them. Here's hoping for a quick fix!

What could be the reason that 1Password doesn't unlock with Touch ID. Every time it's asking for the password to unlock. Where can I have this settings modified ?Screen shot attached.

I have the same problem. Must be a bug.
And somehow the bugs in 1Password are getting more and more frequent.4 -
Is anyone from the 1 Password team is going to fix this ? It so annoying . I am thinking of migrating to some other password manager. This has become entire crap .

Same problem here. 1Password for Safari stopped working. Have switched to Firefox for secure logins until this is fixed. Hope it's fixed, soon.

I also have this problem. Would be grateful if someone could chime in for this paid subscription service.

I also have this issue. A paid subscription service needs to work properly or at least have some feedback from the developers.

The connection seems to be broken between the app and extension. The issue can't use Apple pay as its not supported on another browser.

Sometime recently the Safari extension stopped connecting to the desktop app. In the extension settings it says "Status: Problems Connecting. Please make sure the 1Password app is unlocked." I have tried fully quitting 1Password and restarting the browser multiple times.

Same issue here.
Hopefully there's a resolution soon from the team.

Woke up this morning to the same issue. After a half hour in struggling with it I came here; glad I did.
The release notes say that 2.27.1 was released on August 6 and that seems to be the version I'm running.
Chrome and Firefox are "almost" working fine. When first starting up, the extension is not fully initialized. When I open the extension and use the vault selection at the top left, I don't get the same selections that I do as when I open the extension the second time.

I'm having the same issue. Have tried running onyx to clear caches, etc, no difference. unlocking 1Password doesn't unlock the extension, and unlocking the extension doesn't unlock 1Password. Getting the same error message that the extension status has Problems Connecting. Please make sure the 1Password app is unlocked

Despite being up to date on the 1Password desktop and Safari apps, and despite unlinking, closing, and reopening and linking both, 1Password for Safari always wants me to type in the password, even though at desktop app accepts Touch ID. Any solution?
