1password desktop windows app does not launch / open

I am re-opening a discussion that has been closed, since I am experiencing the same problem: since a few weeks, the desktop app in my Windows 11 environment (PC) launches sporadically, i.e. most of times it does not launch when clicking on its icon.
The only workaround that I found was to re-execute the installation file, which would result into the immediate launch of the app (ie the same way as double-clicking on its icon).

I don't have the same issue on my Mac environment.

Did anything change in a recent update?

  • Hello @pdome! 👋

I'm sorry that 1Password for Windows isn't launching correctly. So that I can better understand the situation, can you tell me the following:

    1. When 1Password fails to open, do you see an error message of any sort? Or does nothing happen?
    2. How are you opening 1Password? From an app icon in the taskbar? From the desktop? From inside of a browser?
    3. When 1Password fails to open, do you see the 1Password icon if you click here:

I look forward to hearing from you.

    Hi Dave,

Here are the responses to your questions, in order:

    1. no error message, nothing happens
    2. opening from an app icon in the task bar. I also tried from the Start menu (where all apps are) and the same happens.
    3. I will need to test this since today, it opened properly (which is becoming less and less). Today I can see the little icon in that section.
