I uninstalled the Safari extension when it became unreliable and would take so long to open and prompt me for my password so often. I have gotten used to using Universal Autofill and for the most part that works well. However, the main thing Universal Autofill cannot do is to provide passkeys. Implementing a Native Password Autofill extension would allow that to work and make the UX of filling passwords/passkeys across the OS better.

I'm sorry that 1Password for Safari wasn't as reliable as it should have been on your Mac. Are you still seeing the issue with the latest version? If you are then the team would be interested in seeing what's going wrong, there are a few open issues for the extension and we might be able to identify some workarounds or solutions for you. If you're still able to reproduce the issue then can you send in the following:

Thank you for the feedback, I've shared it with the team. For the time being, if you're not using the extension, you can still sign in with a passkey in Safari by choosing the QR code option and scanning it using a mobile device that has the 1Password app installed.

I tried it just now and it doesn't work at all. The 1password icon for the extension in Safari shows that its locked. I click the button to "Open 1Password" and then it does nothing. There are a few errors in the console log.

Not sure why but a browser restart got it working again. I will give it more time and see if it works okay.

I posted the details as requested and the support id is: SAX-64696-589
