Unable to launch nor uninstall 1Password

I just installed 1Password from the Windows app store on a fresh install of Windows 11 24H2. It worked for a while, but after about a day, I find myself unable to either launch the app nor uninstall it from the Settings app.

  1. If I click uninstall, nothing happens at all.

  2. Same goes if I double click the app, nothing happens. I notice in Task Manager that 3 processes for 1Password.exe quickly launches and then disappears.

  3. I downloaded a new installer from the website, and when I try to run it, a progress bar appears and then quickly disappears.

  4. I already tried deleting the 1P folder in Local App Data

  5. The browser extensions still work fine.

Any thoughts? I really don't want to have to reinstall Win 11 just to get one app working. Thanks

Anyone?.... it's very annoying. I'd really rather not have to reformat & start over

  • Hi there @zeror

It sounds like it'll be better to get help from us at 1Password directly in this case. Send us an email at support+forum@1password.com and you'll receive an auto-reply from 🤖 BitBot. It will contain a conversation number, which looks like [#ABC-12345-123] – post that here and I'll be able to make sure your message goes to the right team. I look forward to hearing from you. :)

I emailed them, and got this: BGC-69339-984.

Hope to hear from your team

  • @zeror – Looks like we've replied to you in that email, so I'll close this thread and we can continue the conversation with you there. :)
