Before I submit this as a bug…. User name prefilled when creating a new login.
When I go to create a new login, the user name is prefilled with an email address I haven’t used in years. This shouldn’t have any email address, especially when I use Fastmail’s masked emails. I hope this is a bug and not a normal thing.

Hello @prime! 👋
I'm sorry that you're running into issues when creating a new login item using 1Password for iOS. When you create a new Login item, 1Password will now automatically fill your email address in the username field and generate a password. Username suggestions are based on the vault that you’re creating a new item in and are suggested based on previous use.
The team is continuing to iterate on this feature and I've shared your feedback regarding the friction that you're running into as a user of our Fastmail integration. We hope to introduce improvements to this workflow in the future.
For the time being, only 1Password in the browser (our browser extension) currently supports the Fastmail integration when creating new Login items.

@Dave_1P why? This is a horrible feature…. Especially when people are using Fastmail’s Masked Emails.
For the time being, only 1Password in the browser (our browser extension) currently supports the Fastmail integration when creating new Login items.
I also created a Fastmail Aliases for the account I am making (I have my own domain), and I usually don’t use the Masked Emails (once in a while I’d o). It’s also filling in an email address I haven’t used in years… probably 5 at least. Please… least give us the option to turn it off. It’s creating MORE work for me making a login and a horrible user experience.
User names are not always email addresses as well, so it’s making more work for people. Please…. Please give me the option to turn it off at least.

Thanks for the reply. The new workflow should speed up item creation for most people, you can read more in our new blog article under "Better item creation and navigation":

Username suggestions are based on the vault that you’re creating a new item in. Is it possible that the vault that you're creating the item in has login items that use that old email address?
Please…. Please give me the option to turn it off at least.
The team is considering a few different options to better accommodate different use cases, including Fastmail integration and I'm happy to pass along your feedback. Out of curiosity, would having 1Password automatically generate a new Fastmail masked email alias in the username field be something that you'd find useful? Or do you just prefer an option to turn the automatic suggestion off entirely?

I found 1 out of 357 items. I also just moved it to the archive.

No, because I make up my own aliases and have fun. For instance; for Subway I can have footlong@mydomain.com, Costco I have bigstore@mydomain.com, and so on. Since I got my domain, I rarely use the Masked Emails anymore.
Or do you just prefer an option to turn the automatic suggestion off entirely?
Yes, I would like an option to turn it off. There are some features I don’t use, but as long as it’s not in my way, I don’t care. This one is definitely in my way.

@Dave_1P
Thank you! Just the option to turn it off would be amazing. For the heck of it, I wanted to see if the prefilled username would be different since I moved that 1 account to archive. Good news, it helped, bad news, it’s now an email address I use for 3 things… it’s my Proton email and I have it assigned only to my Proton mail account and 2 other accounts, and that’s it.I’ll probably just change the 2 account to a Fastmail email. I don’t use those accounts much anyways.

I’m having the same issue, but it’s more to do with the fact that I’ve changed my email address rather than anything to do with the integration referred to above.
I understand the benefit in having it automatically populate however having the ability to set the username would be much more useful. Ended up accidentally creating an account with the wrong email address a few times without noticing.

@benf funny, as I saw the notification for this, my mom called me and it ended up being the same issue. She made 2 new accounts in the last few days and couldn’t figure out why she couldn’t get into them. After troubleshooting, she saw it was the wrong email address.
@Dave_1P please have the option to turn this off. I don’t need my mom having issues and being locked out of her accounts.0 -
Somehow my mom was on the beta…
I downloaded the normal app for her, so that issue was fixed (for now). My bother told her it was better to get the new features. I even deleted TestFlight off her iPhone.
It’s one of those days and I’m shocked I didn’t catch that the 1st time I was trying to figure out what was wrong.0
