1P4 is not filling in website fields
Hi, I've just upgraded to IP4, followed the instructions to remove the IP3 safari extension. 1P4 is not completing website data. I'm not using Sophos or other AV?
Should Safari automatically get a 1P4 extension?
Grateful for any pointers.
Thanks
Chris

I'm having the same problem in Chrome. The support article mentions Chromium which I believe is different than Chrome. It also mentions that the browser is unable to retrieve pass data. I'm able to see the pass data, it just won't autofill.

Hi, @chrishawkins. You asked:
Should Safari automatically get a 1P4 extension?
1P4 browser extensions are manually installed/uninstalled. There are installation instructions (with a short video) under the Install the Browser Extensions section of this document:
Setting Up 1Password 4 for Mac
After it's installed (which it might already be) please let us know if you're still having trouble so we can help you get it working. Thanks!
PS: I deleted your duplicate topic, where I'd replied before seeing this one.

Hi, @edwardloveall. You wrote:

Where exactly are you seeing that data? Sorry I'm not quite understanding you yet.

Apologies for the duplicate post. Couldn't work out how to install safari extension. Followed your link - very easy - all sorted - everything works a charm :-) Thanks for the help!

I'm having this problem in Google Chrome (version 30.0.1599.66) when trying to update passwords on my Google Account page and Twitter. I navigate to the change password page, select password generator, click "Fill" and the fields remain blank. In the back ground I can see the item created in 1password (Version 4.0 (400200))

@sjk My Chrome extension shows password data and I can copy paste from there. But when I invoke that username/password item, nothing happens. No copy, no autofill.
I'm running Chrome Version 31.0.1650.8 beta and I also checked on Version 30.0.1599.69

Same problem, here. Too bad.
Chrome version is 30.0.1599.690 -
Yup, the same thing happens to me. Pretty annoying, and cmd-\ does not work either.

Sadly, after saying it works, I find it doesn't work from inside the browser (Safari 6, 10.8.5), just as edward and others mention, the copy individual username, password etc. and then using clipboard to paste, works, but not the go to URL or autofill. If I use the 1Password application it goes to the URL and fills the detail ok.
I did uninstall v3 extension, closed browser and then installed v4 as per the instruction, to no avail.
Also tried a complete shutdown, then installed for the first time FireFox and then the extension, same problem.0 -
Same problem here, Chrome 30.0.1599.66. Help.

More info: I upgraded another machine running an older version of Chrome (29.0.1547.76) and autofill works there. Upgraded that browser to 30.0.1599.69 and it still works. The broken machine is running 10.8.5, the working machine is running OSX Mavericks build just before the latest seed build.

And still more info: I reinstalled the Chrome plugin on the broken machine, restarted Chrome, and now autofill is working there as well. So perhaps uninstall/reinstall then restart browser can fix this issue for others? Give it a try...

Interesting. This works for me as well. I thought I had tried this. Thanks farleyja!

Same problem, Chrome 30.0.1599.69. Reinstall+restart didn't work for me. I can't even use open-and-fill from within the app. Cmd-\ does nothing, doesn't even bring up the unlock screen. Manually choosing the login doesn't work either. I have to manually copy and paste each field.

Meh, nevermind, mine was the Sophos issue from the known issues. Workaround worked for me. Sorry for the noise, I didn't do my due diligence.

I'm having the same problem with all browsers (Safari, Chrome, Firefox 24.0): none will fill any of the 1P entries for any site. I can save new site logons into 1Password, see all my entries, but can't fill any of them, nothing happens whether using the keyboard shortcut or clicking on the extension icon. I'm using MAS version and have tried un/installing all browser extensions. Help.

Reinstall did not work for me. For what it's worth, autofill works in Safari (v6.0.5) for me just fine. It does not work in Firefox (v24).
Let me know if there's anything else I can do to help.

The fix of reinstalling the plugin only worked for a while.
autofill works fine in Safari.
I have sent a diagnostic report.

It may be the same as my problem.
If you do not have a problem with Safari, please try Browser.app move to /Applications.0 -
@nagara's solution worked for me!

Hey guys,
Thanks for sharing the workaround you discovered for resolving this issue, @NAGARA. There's followup about it from @MikeT in your other topic that you linked to here. Good to see it's already helped a few other people.
Is anyone else here still having trouble after trying any of the suggestions offered here?

Same problem -- autofill not working with Mac App Store download. I tried uninstalling/reinstalling everything (the app and the browser plugin) -- no dice. I also made sure my browsers were in /Applications. Still nothing. So, I uninstalled the app again, downloaded the 30-day trial from the website and everything worked perfectly.
Any solution for Mac App Store users?

Please try running this script: http://i.agilebits.com/kyle/tools/1PasswordAutosubmit.pkg and see if that gets autofill behaving nicely for you! :)

When trying to install I get:
You cannot install 1Password autosubmit in this location.
The 1Password Autosubmit does not allow its software to be install here.I am using the beta 1P4 4.02.b1
and I believe I need this autosubmit addition, as some sites do not autosubmit
Thanks

Hi all,
Same problem here - even with the http://i.agilebits.com/kyle/tools/1PasswordAutosubmit.pkg run. Still not working at all, even when the website is selected through 'mini' the login details are not auto loaded. Any ideas? Thanks0 -
I've got same problem, also have issue where cmd-\ not working now w/ 1P mini running and the shortcut set to that.

I found a workaround for "Open and Fill". Rather than trying it from the 1Password app, open a browser that has the 1PW extension, click on the 1PW button (small key icon in the toolbar), then Logins and pick the site you want to log into from the drop-down menu.
That's still not ideal of course, but it does work (at least for me). Saves having to copy/paste all of the info.
FWIW I purchased 1PW4 upgrade directly from agilebits and the script linked earlier only works for the Mac App Store version of 1PW.
Hope agilebits issues an update soon!

Per this reply from agilebits' roustem, I switched from Firefox to Safari as my default browser and "Open and fill" began working correctly with 1PW4.

Same issue here in Safari, FF, and Chrome on OSX. My apps are in the default /Applications folder as well.
