1Password 4 for Mac not syncing properly via Dropbox

Ever since I downloaded 1Password4 for Mac, on both my iMac and Macbook Pro, 1Password 4 has not sync'd properly with Dropbox -- from all three of my 1Password clients (Macbook Pro, iMac, iPhone5s). I've just noticed that i've got new logins that I've saved recently on both Macs, and they are not showing up on the other -- even though when I look at 1Passwords prefs/sync tab on both macs, each are indicating that they have sync'd properly within the last few minutes.

I first noticed this when I was trying to use 1password4 on my iPhone5s this weekend, as the mobile client wasn't (and still isn't) syncing the most current keychain. In order to get it to show up with the most current version on my iPhone, I had to do the following:

• While 1password was open and unlocked on my MBPro, I removed the keychain file (27mb) from my Dropbox folder. I then disabled Dropbox Syncing from the 1Password4 prefs menu on my MBPro. Next I re-enabled syncing to Dropbox... pointed to the same folder as i was using before, and it rebuilt the keychain (now 3.4mb). I then sync'd on my phone and it pulled down the new keychain with updated logins.

Additionally, I'm running 4.2.7 on my iPhone (ios 7.0.2)

I'm also noticing when trying to sync from my phone, that the gears icon on the bottom nav endlessly spins and no sync is taking place either.

It is a known issue, if you are using the Mac App Store version and your sync location is not in ~/Dropbox/1Password folder:

I am using the Mac Appstore version. If I move the keychain to the Dropbox/1Password folder, will the issue be resolved? Additionally, is the update pending @ Apple now, or has it yet to be submitted?

The update was submitted around 2am this morning and we asked for an expedited review (something that can be done in special cases like this one).

I also make changes to my 1Password files while on my iPad. These files are not showing up on either my MacBook Pro or iPhone 4.

I just got tired of waiting and caved. I moved my 1Password folder to the Dropbox root, and now everything is sync'ing fine. I figure after 4 days... who knows when the MAS version is going to be released. Can't not have SYNC any longer!

Hi guys,

Sorry about the delays. Despite the app being approved for the expedited review, it didn't get approved for 5 days. The 4.0.3 update was released on 14th and fixes the sandboxing issue where it doesn't push changes between devices and computers. However, we found another sandboxing issue where the receiving Macs does not refresh the listing properly when changes came in. We'll get it fixed in the next update soon. For now, you can work around it by locking/unlocking the app or switching the vaults.
