1Password 4 Missing Features
Hi all
Been a long time 1Password 2/3 etc user and loved it, 1Password 4 seems to have some features that I am missing dearly.
Under the "tag" list" on the side the old version used to have "No Tag" - basically a list of entries with no tags assigned to them. I cant find this option anywhere. Am I missing something or does it not exist in the new version? If this is not available is it planned to be readded?
Ability to change the view to the 'list' type view, where the list of items was in the top half and the details for each entry on the bottom half of the Window. I could also select columns in the top entry (eg. password strength graphic). If this is not available is it planned to be readded?
The new 'Servers' section seems helpful, being able to add multiple entries/logins per server, eg. web admin, ssh, etc. But when I add additional username/password fields only the first login/password is 'concealed'. All others remain visible which sort of defeats the purpose. Is this feature going to be added in the future? If so, will all the data I've spent putting in these cleartext fields automatically change to concealed or will I need to reenter this data into a future concealed field?
Having major adjustment problems with these missing features I am planning to head back to 1Password 3 for now. Can I simply uninstall 1Password 4 and reinstall 1Password 3? Will my database still work or has it been 'migrated' to a new version that is not backward compatible?
Can you please advise a URL where I can get the last/latest version of 1Password 3? I have a license purchased off your website (not the Mac App Store).
Thanks

Hi @block2famous,
Thanks so much for providing such detailed feedback. I would like to apologize for the delay in responding but we have been a bit overwhelmed since the launch of 1Password 4 for Mac. We're working hard to get back to our usual snappy responses and we really appreciate your patience.
- I'll be sure to mention to our developers that you are missing the 'No Tag' option. I know that there are several refinements to tagging on the list, this seems like a good addition :)
- As far as I know, there are no plans to add this feature back, but I'd be more than happy to pass the request along, just in case.
- Our developers are currently looking at ways to handle custom fields so that you can conceal the information that you want to. We don't quite know yet how it will be done (or when) so I can't answer your question about whether data will need to be re-entered. But we do know users have put a lot of time and effort into managing their databases, so we'll do our best to make it as easy a transition as possible.
- 1Password 4 does use a different keychain format than 1Password 3, but if you store your keychain in Dropbox it is saved in a backwards compatible format so it will be readable by 1Password 3 for Mac.
- There is no need to uninstall 1Password 4, both 1Password 3 and 1Password 4 can be installed at the same time without causing troubles. You can download 1Password 3 from our website here: http://help.agilebits.com/1Password3/legacy_versions.html, and you can find the version 3 extensions here: https://agilebits.com/extensions/mac/index.html. Please note, we definitely do NOT recommend uninstalling 1Password 4 immediately ... if you do want to get rid of it, please make sure that all your data is safely stored in 1Password 3 first (and run a backup or two, just to be safe!)
If you do have any further questions, or need a bit more help with the downgrading process, please let us know - we'd be happy to help! :)

I sincerely hope the list ("compressed", "traditional") view is restored. I stopped using 1Password 4 for Mac after less than 5 minutes because of the lack of the list view. Now I read your post to find out that another feature that I use - namely the "No Tag" option is also unavailable! I am so disappointed in AgileBits!

Oh yes, bring back list views ASAP, please. I hate and despise the new chunky huge very little info on the screen at once view.

Its working in the betas I am not sure how baked it is. I don't use it.
If some huge bug were to be found it could be delayed in its debut. But the team is working on bringing it back. Stay tuned.
