Password history behavior

I'm pretty sure the previous version retained a password history regardless of item type. It now seems the history is available for logins but not for Databases or Servers. Is that right or is there some mysterious setting that needs to be enabled before the history will be visible.

I use 1Password heavily and the history feature is sometimes critical for me -- such as after restoring a database to a previous version that had a different password at the time it was backed up.

    Hi @beebell,

I would like to apologize for the delay in responding but we have been a bit overwhelmed since the launch of 1Password 4 for Mac. We're working hard to get back to our usual snappy responses and we really appreciate your patience.

I do have good news for you, however. There is a previously used passwords section for Databases and Servers. :) If you don't want to change the password of any of your current entries, just try creating a dummy database or server entry and change the password a few times. After saving the changed entry you'll notice a "previously used passwords" button towards the bottom of the entry - please let me know if you don't!

I'm trying to upgrade passwords which seems to rely on password history to copy and paste into 1password 4 password generator. I can do the website password change as provided by password generator. I have tried to copy to the clipboard before I fill the website then save the password in the website, but I don't know where in 1password to paste the upgraded password saved to the clipboard.

    Hi @Phillip_Wright,

When updating an existing entry, you want to paste the new password in the top 'password' field of the entry. 1Password will automatically file the replaced password in your 'Previously Used Passwords' .

Please also note that the 'Fill' button in the 1Password Mini generator will also automatically copy that shiny new password to your clipboard by default, so you shouldn't have to take the extra step of manually copying it!

I hope this clears things up, but we're here if you need anything further :)
