1Password Application unlocked by Safari

I've noticed that if I unlock 1Password in Safari then I don't have to enter the master password if I open the actual 1Password application. I can close the Safari window and as long as I don't quit Safari I can open 1Password without a master password. Is there any way to change the setting so this doesn't occur, i.e. so the application always asks for the master password? Although it can be convenient at times not to have to type in the password, I'm worried that I could close a window but forget to quit the Safari application and therefore make it easy to bypass the master password.

  • Hey @rlp,

To change your auto-lock settings, go to 1Password > Preferences... in the menu bar, then click on the Security tab.

    Hi @rlp,

Just to follow up a bit here, 1Password lock settings do not depend on whether your browser is open or not. The lock settings for the main 1Password app and the 1Password Mini/extension are the same and will be set through the dialogue box that @JasperP posted above. If you are concerned about forgetting to lock the main application, you can change the 'Lock after computer is idle for' to a shorter time period.

Please let me know if you have any further questions. :)
