Upgrade Question/All Devices - Confused

I would like to upgrade but I am confused.

I have 1 Password 3.8.21 installed on my IMac and Macbook Pro.
I have the iphone/ipad apps – 3.7.2.
I am using Wifi to sync a folder called Mobile Passwords.
Currently Working - I sync selected passwords to both my ipad and iphone.

If I upgrade I want to make sure I will not lose my ability to use WIFI syncing.
The other methods Dropbox/Icloud are not an option for me.
Also I need to retain the ability to use Wifi syncing for just one folder.
I currently sync a folder called Mobile Devices.

*** The user manual for the current Iphone/Ipad app says you are working on USB sycing.
The description for the 1 Password 4 for Mac indicates that to use WIfi syncing you must have the current version of the mobile app – this conflicts with the user manual on the iphone app?

If I am correct to upgrade my Mac to the current version it will be 49.95 and 9.95 for the Mobile versions? No discount? I already own 1 Password (all versions)?

    I'd be happy to help un-confuse things for you. First of all, USB sync unfortunately never made it out of beta testing. There were several issues with it that we just couldn't resolve. Moving forward we will be focussing our attention on the new version 4 Wi-Fi sync and improving that as our non-cloud-based sync option.

    As the description of 1Password 4 for Mac states, Wi-Fi sync is version-specific. Because we have completely re-written it between versions 3 and 4, you must have the same version of 1Password installed on all devices to sync with Wi-Fi. This means that you have two options for upgrading:

    • The simplest option is to upgrade to 1Password 4 on your Mac and iOS devices and use version 4's new Wi-Fi sync.
    • If you don't want to upgrade your iOS devices, you can still use 1Password 3 for iOS if you keep 1Password 3 for Mac installed. You can use Folder Sync to keep 1Password 4 for Mac and 1Password 3 for Mac synced up and then use version 3's Wi-Fi sync to keep your iOS devices updated.
