Closing last window closes app?

This is new behavior for 1P 4, and a very annoying behavior at that. I used to be able to cmd+tab to 1P, search for my item, cmd+w to close the window and go on my way.

Now, closing the last window closes the app and - because the app is closed - it no longer appears in the cmd+tab options.

Please add a config option for this.

Thanks for feedback on this behavior and the suggestion, which I'll pass on to the developers.

Awhile back there was a lengthy discussion about it in the Mac Beta forum:
