file sync issue with version 4.2.2

Hi,

I use the latest official version 4.2.2 on two MacBooks Pro and an iMac. In the network there is a synology station with "cloud station" from synology running. I use the cloud station to sync the 1password keychain file to all the macs.

Since the last update from version 4.2.1 to 4.2.2 all macs are permanently syncing the 1password file… So if I take a look into the sync option with the latest status it is flickering and it shows all the time: last synchronization for one second…. and again and again…. The message window in OS X display any time a different count on sync files e.g. 8 or 75 or 30 or 20 and so on.

Is there something wrong and how can I stop that? (please another solution as stop the file sync service)

Many thanks,
Kalle

    Hi Kalle ( @kalle789 ),

I'm sorry you're having trouble with 1Password aggressively syncing since the 4.2.2 update.

You have Folder sync configured in 1Password on all your Macs with the same folder on your Synology Cloud Station?

Please give this a try on each Mac:

    • Restart 1Password mini. If that doesn't help, then:
    • Restart the Mac. If that doesn't help, then:
    • Disable and reenable Folder syncing.

If that doesn't resolve the problem we'll take a deeper look to find a solution for you. Thanks!

Yes I have Folder sync configured on all my Macs with the same folder on the Synology Cloud Station.

The first two tests didn't solve the problem.

Short question: Disable and reenable Dropbox syncing? Is that a typo or do you really mean I should enable Dropbox sync? I don't really want sync my password file with my dropbox.

    Hi @kalle789,

Yup, that was a typo; thanks for catching it. Of course I meant Folder, not Dropbox, syncing. :)

Sorry to hear the restarts didn't resolve this. And if disabling/reenabling Folder syncing doesn't, please send us a Diagnostics Report from any Mac with the problem, along with a link to this topic, to support+forum@agilebits.com. A brief comment here mentioning that you've sent the report would also be helpful. Thanks in advance!

    Hi sjk,

good news from my side. It looks like that the sync issue is solved for the moment and from my point of view the problem was not 1password. :)

On my iMac was an old synology cloud station installed (3.0-3003). I take a look into the synology forum and another people has the same issue like me with another files. My mistake was to check the version only in my MacBook because the cloud station software should normally update automatically. On my MacBook it works an on my iMac it doesn't work. Today I startet some test to prepare the Diagnostic Reports and so I checked the version on my iMac and found out that is an old version. After the update both Macs sync the files and stopped normally... :)

So I'm so sorry that you spend time for my fault but I hope that issue/information helps another people with a synology with DSM 5.0 and cloud station.

Many thanks for your time and fast respond to my request.

    BR,
    kalle789
