Hi.
I've sent a massage to Megan but I'm not sure that it sent correctly.
So:

Previously purchased 1password for iMac, very happy !
I can not remember why, But Apple has credit me with a refund.
Although so far I could get updates, latest update fails and I get a message
that after the refund I can not updated and / or re-download / Purchase again.
Even logging out from AppStore does not allow the purchase.
I always see "Update" instead of "Buy".

I find myself not able to update and can not buy again.

Maybe uninstall the software and reinstall ? What about the data ?
(Backup exists but will it be used in the future)
I'm syncing to iOS devices via iCloud only

Please help as I'm in a bit frustrating situation ...

Thanks
Ronen

This doesn't help you with how to buy again but I read that Apple recently made a change to the App Store that prevents users from downloading refunded applications anymore. It used to be that you could do that, but not anymore. So that explains why you can no longer update a refunded copy.

    Thanks.
Is it possible to do :
    In my iMac :
Log in to my other Apple ID AppStore and buy the 1password App ,
    Install it and use it.
But what about the present 1password app data ?
Can I install base on the present one ?

I don't think it will matter what AppleID you use to purchase your copy, as long as you are logged into iCloud with the same AppleID as you used to store your data there. It would sync correctly then.

What is of some concern, perhaps minor, is that if all your other software has been purchased on the Apple account that is causing you trouble, you won't receive update notices through the Apple software update process, if you stay logged into the App Store with a different AppleID than you used for your second purchase. (Hope I'm making sense!) If I were you, I'd prefer to get resolved how to purchase a fresh copy from the sam AppleID as I used for the initial, but refunded, purchase.

    Thanks.
I see now that I can't use 2 Apple ID's as I'm syncing to iOS and OS X devices .
I don't understand why Apple make a refund ( instead of another solution like music or movie credit ) as now i can't update because of the refund ...

Typically Apple would issue a refund if you ask them to do so, but it could be some kind of error. Why don't you ask them (Apple) why they refunded your purchase and whether they could reverse the refund?

    Please help !!!!
Apple advise me to delete the 1Password app from my iMac and RE Perchase from App Store .
**How can I delete 1Password but save all my data to use with the new installed app ? **

First go to 1Password Preferences in your current installation and on the Backup tab, force the application to make a new backup. (I'm assuming that you have version 4.x. I don't remember the Preferences structure from version 3.x,)

Then if you drag the application from the Applications folder to the trash and don't do anything else, your backups will remain and will be found by the newly purchased replacement. If I were going to do this myself, I'd actually drag the application to a temporary folder on my desktop and then zip it up before downloading it again. That way you will be able to go back to how you are right now, should there be a problem. But I'm paranoid. I would also restart my Mac before installing a replacement, just to be safe. (I doubt you need to restart, but it won't hurt and might help.)

I don't remember the new user startup screens, but I am sure you will be prompted to tell 1Password that you've used it before and want to use the same data.

    Thanks.
Apple advise me to completely delete the app by :
"Click the Launchpad in the Dock.
Click and hold the app you want to delete.
The apps will begin to jiggle.
    Click the X that appears.
    "

I don't know if it will also delete the backup ..

I don't think it will delete the rest of the files you want to keep. I doubt it will, but the process I suggested will accomplish what you want and I know it won't delete the backups.

Whatever you do, don't use an uninstaller application. That most likely will hose your data.

Be sure to post back with your experience when you're done. Someone else will have the same trouble, and this thread may help.

Great news! I think the coffee probably was the most important step. :)
