1Password mini doesn't show all logins [moved to email]

Hi,

I have a number of vaults, one for each client, and the Primary vault for my data. The Primary vault displays all it's logins in 1Password Mini and my browser plugins (Safari and Firefox), but none of the others show correctly.

A couple of them display one of the logins for that vault, the rest don't display any logins at all. See attached screenshot example.

Any ideas what I can do to fix this?

Are the logins which don't display set to display always or set to Never display in browser? Edit one of the non-displaying items and check the display field near the bottom of the item.

Sorry Stephen, I should have mentioned...all logins are marked as "Always".

    Best wishes,

    Hi David,

That's strange... the only time I've seen this behaviour is when the login is set to Never display in browser.

What happens in you add a new login item to the vault? Does it display in mini?

    Hi Jasper,

When I add a new login to the main vault, it saves and displays in Mini perfectly - whether I enter it manually into 1PW, or let the browser plugin save it.
Doing the same thing for any of the other vaults, it will save in 1PW, but not show up in Mini.

    Best wishes,
    David

  • Hi David,

So we can investigate further, could you please email us a Diagnostics Report from your Mac, along with a link to this discussion, to: support+forum@agilebits.com

A brief comment here mentioning that you've sent the report would also be helpful. Thanks in advance!

I responded to @davamb by email, but in case anyone else comes across this problem also, here's the scoop.

This problem currently occurs only when Logins are saved from the browser into a secondary vault. We have fixed the issue in the code that created the problem and will be releasing that fix soon, I hope. However, that won't fix the current Logins that aren't showing up correctly in 1Password mini because the problem is in the database record for each of those items. There is a way to fix the data, though, which I'll describe here. Note: you may want to wait to do this until the fix has been released. Otherwise, new Logins you save will have the same problem, and you'll have to do it again.

Before we get started on the fix, make sure you know the master password for that secondary vault where the problem exists. 1Password will let you switch between vaults using just the master password of the primary vault, but if you don't know the master password for the secondary vault, don't continue with these instructions. You can make sure you know the password by locking 1Password and switching to the secondary vault using 1Password 4 > Switch to Vault from the menu bar.

Another thing to do before we start is make sure you have a backup of your data, just in case. Click "File > Backup" to do that.

Ok, once you're sure you can unlock the vault on its own and you have a current backup, now what we need to do is export your vault, then import it back in. Here's how to do that:

    1. In the secondary vault in the main 1Password app, open 1Password's preferences and select the Sync tab.
    2. If the vault is already syncing with Dropbox or using Folder Sync, and everything is up-to-date, skip to step 7.
    3. If not, select Folder Sync.
    4. Choose any folder you want, I chose the Desktop because it was easiest.
    5. It will ask you if you want to create a new file named [YourVaultName].agilekeychain. Select "Create New"
    6. Give that about 15 seconds just to be safe, and make sure the Sync tab in the preferences says "Last synced: ____" and not "Syncing"
    7. Now, you have another copy of your data, so we're going to delete the copy in 1Password (remember you also have a backup that you just made). So go to the "1Password 4" menu, select "Delete [YourVaultName] Vault…", and confirm when prompted.
    8. Now find the [YourVaultName].agilekeychain file you saved to your Desktop or elsewhere and double-click it.
    9. 1Password 4 will ask you if you want to set it up as a new secondary vault. You do, so set it up as you'd like it. This is where you'll need the vault's master password, too.
    10. Done!

You now have your vault back with items that have been freshly added to the database, and all the items should now show up correctly in 1Password mini. If you have any trouble, please let us know!
