What should sync preferences show for iCloud Drive?

When I first moved to yosemite and iOS 8 it showed syncing with "iCloud Drive" instead of just "iCloud". But then it changed back to just "iCloud" as shown:

So, my question is what should it be showing if I'm using iCloud drive? Just wanted to be sure. What is everyone else using iCloud Drive seeing?

    Thanks, Anyone else?

  • Hi @tinkerer33,

    What you're seeing is expected, it should simply show "iCloud". 1Password 5 does not sync your data using iCloud Drive. It uses a different iCloud technology called CloudKit.

    Do I need to select iCloud in the Sync panel to enable CloudKit syncing?

    @denno You're quite correct, all you need to do is select iCloud as your sync option, CloudKit is the framework for the new iCloud sync and simply used by default when iCloud sync is enabled.

  • Hi guys,

    @denno:

    Do I need to select iCloud in the Sync panel to enable CloudKit syncing?

    Yes, as littlebobbytables mentioned, you have to enable iCloud in 1Password's Sync Preferences to start syncing with your iCloud account.
