ODrive + 1Password

I currently have 1Password syncing with Dropbox.

I am considering using ODrive (http://www.odrive.com/).
Anyone has tried syncing dropbox via odrive?
Anything I should worry about?
Previous experiences using 1Password with odrive?

    Hi @nasht00,

At this time, ODrive is not an officially supported sync solution, so I can't give you much advice here. I am curious to hear if any of our other users are currently using this solution.

I can tell you though that you'll want to use Folder Sync to get your 1Password data into a location that ODrive can sync for you.

If you decide to give ODrive a try, please let us know how it goes. :)

Interested in this as well... Is the folder structure the same for folder sync as it is on Dropbox? Could I potentially try to use odrive to "folder sync" to my folder in Dropbox that would then work on Dropbox with all my mobile devices? Thanks!

    Hi @GrrBear,

Folder Sync and Dropbox Sync are effectively the same thing. We store a .agilekeychain and 1Password writes and reads to it as required. While I haven't tried it there is no reason it shouldn't work as long as this Drive isn't doing anything funky in the background and is indeed merely working as a middleman between you and your Dropbox account (that seemed to be how it worked based on my brief inspection of ODrive's site).

I tried it out and it appears to be working (I added and deleted a few things in my vault just to be sure and everything propagated to all my devices).

Here are my findings for anyone else who is curious or wants to try odrive:

The key issue is the .agilekeychain package appears as a folder when you setup your Dropbox account in odrive.

odrive uses what they call progressive sync, meaning that it does not actively download & sync contents of a folder and their subdirectories until you open them--hopefully they add the ability to full sync some folders/files down the line, seems to be a common feature request.

I clicked through to all the subdirectories (there are a bunch) and got them all actively syncing and after that the .agilekeychain package appeared normal. Then I went into 1Password prefs and change my sync from Dropbox to a folder (be sure not to select delete data on Dropbox when changing), selected the .agilekeychain package in the odrive dropbox folder. Appears to be working great!!

    Thanks for the quick feedback!!
