1Password can't connect to 1Password mini

Hi --

I updated Yosemite the other day and am having issues with 1Password. It's crashing on launch, telling me it can't connect to 1Password mini. I'm using it with another computer on Yosemite and an iPhone and iPad on iOS8. I'm using the latest version of 1Password downloaded from the Agilebits website.

I've tried the instructions in a few other posts about downloading and reinstalling, but I'm unable to make it work that way.

Any tips? Thanks!

  • Hi @zds,

I'm sorry to hear about the trouble. So we can investigate, could you please email us a Diagnostics Report from your Mac, along with your forum username and a link to this discussion, to: support+forum@agilebits.com

A brief comment here mentioning that you've sent the report would also be helpful. Thanks in advance!

I have Yosemite running on my Mac. Been getting a warning "1Password failed to connect to 1Password mini" I just did an update to 10.10.2 on my Mac and now 1Password won't launch. HELP!

  • Hi there @scotinmichigan,

Sorry to hear that you started seeing this error after you updated to 10.10.2.

I'd first recommend trying the solutions in this article (particularly steps 1 and 2):
    https://guides.agilebits.com/1password-mac-kb/5/en/topic/cannot-connect-to-mini

If that does not help, please send us a diagnostics report as Jasper described above, and we'll look into it personally for you. Thanks!

@zds you might try Repairing Permissions. Amazingly enough, I have had that solve many an issue.

Open Disk Utility, select your drive on the left, then repair permissions lower left. I always restart, even though it is not required.
