1Password iOS license with Mac license

I paid $10 to unlock additional features in the 1Password iOS app. Did I need to do this if I was going to purchase 1Password for Mac and Windows? Looking at the licensing breakdown on the Agilebits website, I see;

You alone use 1Password on your Mac, Windows PC, iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch
You'll need a single license for Mac and a single license for Windows and 1Password 5 for iOS from the iTunes App Store.

It seems that if I purchased 1Password for either Mac or Windows, the iOS app would share the license? Is this correct?

    1P for Mac and 1P for iOS are completely separate purchases. I think you were very sensible in unlocking the pro features of the iOS app because you will find that it will work much better with 1P for Mac once you purchase that. (For example, you'll see on your iOS device all the categories you create on your Mac, any folders and tags you create on the Mac and you can have more than one vault on both iOS and Mac.)

    Thank you for the response.

    I use a Mac and my wife uses a Windows laptop. We do both use iPhones though, so that is good but what we would be looking at is:

    1 x Mac license
    1 x Win license
    2 x iOS license

    Am I correct in this summation?

    Ignoring Windows for the moment (sorry, but I don't know about that as I don't use it any more) that sounds correct to me. However, there is just one wrinkle. If you and your wife share one Apple ID you can both have 1Password with that iD and one in-app purchase should work for both of you.

    Hi @martylavender‌

    So as Stephen_C has pointed out, an in-app purchase made on any iOS of yours should be reflected on all of your iOS devices, so if you and your wife share a single Apple ID then a single in-app purchase would cover you both. Unfortunately in-app purchases aren't shared in Apple's Family Sharing where you can link several Apple IDs in a single family, it turns out it only works for purchased apps. Your wife could also try 1Password for iOS before deciding if the additional features are useful to her or not.

    So basically you'd be looking at 1-2 in-app purchases depending on your setup.

    Now you can purchase 1Password for Mac through one of two routes. You can purchase it from Apple's MAS and you would be able to use iCloud Sync if you did that. Due to Apple restrictions though if you purchase 1Password from our store (https://agilebits.com/store) it can't offer iCloud Sync. What we can do though is we can offer discounts either for paid upgrades of users from older versions or when we bundle two different platforms together e.g. our 1Password Mac + Windows Bundle.

    It all comes down to how important you feel support for iCloud is in contrast to say Dropbox or Wi-Fi Sync.

    If you have any more questions do please post back here :smile:
