Migrate P1 3.8.22 to P1 5.0.2 on new Mac
I've followed all the Help and Discussion suggestions I can find, and have been unsuccessful moving the vault data from Version 3.8.22 on an older Mac to Version 5.0.2 on a new Mac (Yosemite). I don't have sync set up, but am able to copy files between the two machines, so have tried the Backup, the Export, and the full Library/Application Support 1Passport folder. None of the data capture options on startup (This Mac or Restore from backup) recognize any of these files. Any other suggestions?

Hi @ricksbowman,
I'm sorry you've been having such trouble getting your 1Password data from your old Mac to your new Mac!
The easiest way to get your 1Password 3 data from your old Mac to 1Password 5 on your new Mac is by syncing with Dropbox. Otherwise, it's also fairly easy to do that by using a backup file from 1Password 3 on your old Mac. To get the backup file on the old Mac, follow these steps:
- Open 1Password 3 on your old Mac
- Go to the menu for 1Password > Preferences, and select the Backup tab
- Right-click on the file path for the backup folder, and choose Show In Finder
This will open a folder where you'll see the Backups folder for 1Password 3. You can either copy the whole Backups folder to your new Mac, or copy the most recent file from inside that folder (entirely up to you). Each backup file from 1Password 3 should have a name like 1Password_DATE_FORMAT.agilekeychain_zip (where DATE_FORMAT would be the date the backup was made). To use that file to restore your data in 1Password 5 on the new Mac, follow these steps:
- First you will need to rename a backup file to the following name: 1Password.agilekeychain.zip
- Next you should be able to double-click that file to unzip it, and it will now be named 1Password.agilekeychain
- Open the 1Password 5 app on the new Mac, and go to the menu for 1Password > Preferences
- Select Sync > Folder and then choose the 1Password.agilekeychain file
This should restore the data from that backup file. If you need more help with that, please let us know. :)

The rename and the unzip worked perfectly. (If that isn't in the documentation somewhere, it might be worth adding.) Thanks for your help.
