1Password bought from both the website and the App store

I just realized that I am running two different versions of 1Password 5 on my two systems - one is running the app store version, the other is running the Agile web store version. I am syncing via Dropbox. All seems well, but should I try to get both systems onto the same version? Will different versions sharing the same data cause a problem in the future?

    OS X Yosemite can currently get itself into a muddle if you have two versions of 1P5. I'm a little surprised you've not already had problems. It is much better, and safer, to run only one version so you need to decide which one to keep. If you're sure you will never want to sync using iCloud you could delete the Mac App Store version (which is the only version that will support iCloud sync). Whatever you want to do, here are some knowledge base articles to guide you:

    Stephen, he does say that the two versions of 1PW are on two different systems, NOT both on the same machine.

    @chmoss, I also wonder if you paid for both versions, and is so, when. Because you are permitted to run 1PW on more than one machine, so you only need on license. If you have paid for both, and got the Agile version recently enough, you can get a refund.

    Hi @chmoss,

    If the different versions of 1Password are on different computers, you shouldn't have too many issues. The OS X Yosemite issues that Stephen_C mentions occur when you have multiple versions of 1Password installed on the same computer.

    However, his instructions will work perfectly for you if you do want to ensure that you are using the same version of 1Password on all computers. Having the same version everywhere might make it simpler.
