1Password 'key icon' is missing from FireFox Toolbar
I am running FireFox 34 (with 1Password plugin 4.2.5) and recently I started having an issue with the 1Password "Key Icon" not appearing in my FireFox toolbar. When I try to customize the toolbar the icon does not appear with the other icons as an installable option.
I am able to right-click on the page and access it from the pop-menu but I would really like to have the icon back.
I disabled "verifiy browser code signature" but it did not resolve the issue.
Please advise.
Thanks.

Hi @GeorgeRudd
The first troubleshooting step worth trying out would be to remove the extension complete from Firefox and try installing it again. If you want to be extra cautious throw in a reboot between the uninstallation of the extension and the downloading of a fresh copy. Let us know if that makes any difference.

Could this just be that the icon in the toolbar is no longer a key? It now looks like a lock:

Yes, good grief, the icon has changed. Thanks.
I did not think to look for a different icon because am running multiple instances of FireFox on the same computer and the key icon was still showing on my primary identity. Apparently the identity with the key icon is running 1Password 4.2.5b1.
A big thumbs down from me on the new icon!
I can appreciate the idea of trying to brand the icon to match your logo but sometimes this is a flawed concept. Some shapes just don't work at smaller sizes. Please bring back the key icon or give users the option to change it.

Hi @GeorgeRudd
I'm glad it's at least resolved even if you're not a fan of the new icon. I've added your comments to the request to bring the old icon back but I can't promise anything. As your issue is technically resolved I'm going to go ahead and close this thread but if you have any other questions or issues please do post

Please trust my 30 years of marketing experience. The key icon reinforces your brand better than an ambiguous round icon.
What is good about the key icon is that it is a very distinct shape and it clearly communicates what it is. I have a bunch of other plugins installed and your new round icon just blends in with all the other round icons.
Please consider this, if you show the key icon to 100 people that have never used 1Password I will bet you dollars to donuts that 100% of them will tell you that it is a key. If you show the same 100 people the new icon I would bet you iPads to donuts that none of them will tell you that it is a keyhole. This should give you a clear indication of which is the better choice.

I have the Priceblink extension installed. It's icon is also a key, and I've been confused by that conflict with the pervious 1Password icon. I report this only to show that there is no way to cover all the bases these days. In my current constant ion of icons for extensions, the round icon with the keyhole is more distinct.
