    Hi @Julian89,

Stephen is correct, your .agilekeychain file is encrypted. I just wanted to add that all of the sync options in 1Password (iCloud, Dropbox, Folder, Wi-Fi) will keep your data encrypted.

If you have more questions, we're here for you! :)

In effect, yes...but if you really want some gory details you could always take a look at this post.

  • Hi @Julian89,

The AgileKeychain format has both encrypted and unencrypted parts. It's technically just a directory of files and if you use the right tools you can see inside to take a look yourself. The unencrypted parts are mostly stored as part of the data/default/contents.js file which can be thought of as a Bill of Materials. The only data we keep unencrypted is data we have decided is safe (so obviously no usernames or passwords). The unencrypted version of the data is there so that we can perform basic searches without having to decrypt absolutely everything.

You can read more about our AgileKeychain format here.

Let us know if you have any questions. We try to be as transparent as possible about the data formats.

    Rick
