When I opened my extension in Firefox I got a message that my trial period had ended and told to click to buy. I did but the license number didn't chage and I think my purchase was uneccessary. When I reopen the extension after the purchase and update of the license I'm still getting the message of ttrail period ending.
I was trying to connect my Ipad app with my account. In the directions to connect them over WIFI it says go to windows> WiFi synch or file>WiFi synch. I don't have any choices like that under either the File or window heading

I'm a little puzzled by some things in your post. Although you refer to the "trial expired" problem (covered by this sticky at the top of the forum) you then say:

    the license number didn't change

1P4 and 1P5 don't use a licence number but instead use a licence file. If you open 1P and go to 1P > About 1Password what is the 1P version number shown? It sounds to me a little as though you may still be using 1P3 (particularly in view of what you say about wifi sync).

Once you can let us have that information, together please with your OS X version number, somebody will be able to give you more help.

    @enfassler‌

Thank you for that information. What version of 1Password do you have on your iPad?

It sounds like we probably need to get you upgraded to 1Password 5 on both platforms...

I'm not sure how to tell what version on the ipad but I suspect it's old too. I bought the app but never got around to installing it. I'm wanting to get everyting installed and linked on my Ipad and Iphone finally.
    thanks

At a quick glance you can tell which version you have by comparing to this guide:

    Hi @enfassler‌

I'm sorry but after reading the thread I'm still confused.

    • You seem to state you're running Yosemite (OS X 10.10.1) and you mention version 3.8.22 which would be correct for 1Password 3. Yet you mention the Trial Expired Message which would be something you would see if you were running 1Password 4 or 1Password 5 on your Mac. Open up 1Password on your Mac and go to 1Password > About 1Password, what version does it say you're running?
    • We still don't know what version of 1Password you are running on your iOS device(s). Can you tell us which icon is the same as the one you can see, A, B, C or D please.

Could you also message me here on the forums with the email address you used at the time of purchase. I believe I've found your record but I want to ensure I have as it's a different email address than you use here in the forums.

Sorry I wasn't clear. In have D on both my Ipad and Iphone. On my Macbook Pro I have 3.8.22. I opend my extension recently and got the message in red letters that my trial period had expired though i have had a licesnse for quite a while. I knew there was a new version of 1 Password and clicked on the red message which took me to the 1password purchase page and bought what I thought was an upgrade to V.5. When I did this I got a license number which was the same as my old one and when I thought I was installing the new version nothing happened and I still have v. 3.8.22 with the trial expired message showing up on my firefox extension on the toolbar

I should admit I was in the same expectation with all those paid updates. I even don't know if syncing is working. Really confusing.
In addition, saving a password in firefox save the password with another URL (from another tab) ! I'll create another thread for that.
I can't anymore trust 1password to store and retrieve passwords. Often the Username is not stored with the password or the password is stored in the Username field. last but not least, where and how are the Data crypted ?

It does appear you have a 1Password 5 for Mac license which I've resent to the email address you purchased with. You'd need to download 1Password 5 for Mac:

Then you'll use your license file which can be downloaded from the email I sent you to register the product. You'll also need to update your browser extensions.

You can read our upgrade policy here:

I even don't know if syncing is working.

Easy enough to check: create a uniquely named Secure Note item on each device and see if it appears on each other device.

I'll create another thread for that. I can't anymore trust 1password to store and retrieve passwords. Often the Username is not stored with the password or the password is stored in the Username field.

We'll keep an eye out for your other thread. This one is about licensing. :)

where and how are the Data crypted ?

You can read about that here:

ok got all the extensions, apps and Ver 5 installed. Now I'm trying to getting everything synched. I went to both my iphone and Ipad and made sure icloud drive was enabled on both as well as Icloud turned on in my system preferences on my Mac. When I open my app I'm hitting sync existing vault>synch with cloud and get "existing data not found". I was able to do it over WiFi.

Can you help me do if over icloud?

    sorry for being so inept

    Hi @enfassler‌

The first thing to do is check both of your iOS devices for the following:

    1. In the iOS device's settings, so Settings > iCloud does it say iCloud Drive is On and in there is 1Password enabled to store documents and Data? If the answer to either is no then 1Password can't sync to iCloud.
    2. In 1Password on your iOS device, in Settings > Sync does the first line say Sync Service iCloud >
or does it say Start Syncing >. If it is the latter then Sync isn't set up and you need to do this (synchronisation is manually configured by you)

On your Mac, you will need to check that iCloud is set up which you can do in System Preferences > iCloud. Like the iOS devices, iCloud Drive must be enabled and 1Password mini must have permission to store documents and data in iCloud Drive for it to work.

I'm not sure if you have a vault set up in 1Password 5 at the moment so I'll cover both situations.

    1. If 1Password 5 is still asking you to set up a vault when you start it follow the Getting started again on a new computer guide.
    2. If 1Password 5 has a vault then you will want to configure sync which you can do by following the Syncing using iCloud guide.

If you have any problems please do post. When you do can you make sure we understand what steps you've taken so far, at what point it stopped working and if you get an error message the exact text displayed. With all of that information we should be able to supply you detailed steps that will resolve it. Hopefully you'll be syncing in no time at all though
