merge vaults

Hi, I have created two vaults, but do not really use them. Now with version 5 I need to switch to wifi sync, and that only seems to for the primary vault. So I want to merge my two vaults into one. is that possible?

1Password for Mac 5.1 and 1Password for iOS 5.2 will support Wi-Fi sync with secondary vaults. So if you can wait until those are out, you could keep using your two vaults. I have no firm release dates on them though.

If you want to merge them, I would recommend using the Export and Import to/from 1pif to accomplish this. You can export all items in your secondary vault using the File > Export menu item. Then in your primary vault you should be able to import that 1pif file and the items should now also be in your primary vault.

Here's the bottom line multiple vaults were a bad idea!

1. this is your first post;
2. you are commenting on a thread which is four to five months old (since when a number of 1P updates have been released);
3. if you have some problem with multiple vaults you've given no indication what it is.

Do please give us some more details of your problem so that someone can help. What version of 1P for Mac are you using? Do you sync your 1P data with any other device and, if so, with what device and what sync method do you use? What specific problem do you have with multiple vaults?

@john3: That's pretty subjective! ;)

Many customers asked to support multiple vaults, and -- what do you know -- they're pretty useful for us as well! Granted, the way that multiple vaults are currently implemented may not suit your particular use case, but we hope to expand the feature in the future to make it more flexible. And keep in mind that if you really just don't like multiple vaults, you don't have to use them. Stick with one good one and call it a day! :+1:
