How to turn off email notifications?

Is there a way to turn off email notifications of new comments in a particular discussion thread?

I am referring in particular to the thread "Bring Back the Classic but More Visible Key Icon ...". A while back I made a post on that thread supporting the idea. That thread has attracted so many comments that it has basically been beaten to death, and I no longer want to receive emails about it.

Thanks in advance!

If you click on your username at the top of the forum web page while you are logged in, you'll be brought to your profile page. There is a drodown menu to the far right that includes an option to edit your profile. When you get there, you'll find a link to specify your notification preferences on the left side.

Hawkmoth -- Thank you for the tip. I did know about this notification setting, but I was looking for a way to turn off notifications for only one particular thread, not for all of the threads in which I participated..

Ah, I see. I don't know if the forum software has a way to do that. Sorry.

Sadly the forums aren't that configurable @randy_va‌ You could star the ones you want to track and turn off email notifications for ones you've commented in but that's all I can think of for the moment.

So I'd set email notifications for:

    • Notify me when people comment on my bookmarked discussions.
    • Notify me of private messages.
    • Notify me when people mention me.

    Littlebobbytables -- Thanks! Very helpful!

Guess I was just too lazy to take the time to figure that out. Now I'll just have to remember to bookmark certain discussions; that shouldn't be too hard, even for me! ;)

    Hi @randy_va‌

Hey, for ages I though a certain setting was enabled by default only to discover it isn't so it's not just you by a long shot :grinning:

I'm glad we managed to find a setup that you can work with though!
