Simply Syncing Mac to iOS device ???

I've looked at this everyway I can figure and it doesn't seem do-able. My iOS device (iPhone 5s w 8.1.2, Password 3.6.1) does not have the info (logins', account numbers, etc) from my Mac (MBP with OS 10.10.1, Password5). All I want is to be able to look up information contained on my MBP through my iPhone. Problem is I can't quite figure out how to sync them. Sync'ing through Dropbox just seems to back up keychain. The only other option I get in Password5 sync preferences is to sync to a folder - well, I don't want to sync to a folder, I want Password5 on my Mac to sync with Password on my iPhone so I can have account numbers, ss numbers, etc available to me when I'm out and about.

I'm sure there's a simple solution, but I haven't found it (and I've searched the forums and not found my specifics). Help please.

I see I am way behind the curve on my iPhone Password 3.6.1. Looks like 5.1.2 is an upgrade ($$$) as opposed to an update (xxx). I'll go ahead and get it to see if it allows me to do what I'm aiming for.

Dropbox syncing stopped working for version 3 of the iOS application in September, 2013 as a result of a change Dropbox made to their API. That likely explains why you are getting satisfaction any longer with that version.

Well I am having difficulty here. I've updated iOS 1Password to 5.1.2 (I think - it looks that way). Attempting to sync 1P5 on my MBP 10.10.1 and 1P5.1.2 on my iPhone 8.1.2 and the iOS 1P keeps crashing. After I enter the secret from MBP to iPhone, then it asks for the Master Password for the MBP and if I select 'Unlock' it cycles back to entering the password, if I select 'Done' 1P crashes.

I have all the iCloud Drive selections made but since it hasn't been used yet from either device it seems neither device can use it.

What version of 1Password are you using on your MacBook? Where did you buy it also (from The Mac App Store or Agilebits website)?

(Edit: looks like you have 1Password 5 for Mac, but still need to know where you purchased if from)

Yes it's 1P5 and originally I purchased from Mac App Store, but a couple months ago swapped it for the Agilebits Webstore version.

"*It is only possible to sync with iCloud if you installed 1Password from the Mac App Store. If you installed 1Password from the AgileBits site, please use one of the other options for syncing your 1Password data. Complete details are available in the iCloud FAQ.

It is also only possible to sync your primary vault with iCloud. If you have multiple vaults, you may sync additional vaults with Dropbox."

You can only use 1Password purchased from the Mac App Store to use iCloud to sync between all Apple devices.

    Hope this help!

Yes this clarifies considerable. If I understand correctly there are 3 means of sync'ing: iCloud, Dropbox and with WiFi. I've been making attempts at sync'ing with WiFi, and experiencing crashes with the iOS app. As described above, selecting via WiFi on the Phone, entered the secret code produced by the MBP and then am asked for the Master Password for the MBP - this is where the crash happens.

I figured it out. The password that was asked for was the Master for 1Password not my MBP - although it asks for the Master PW for MyMBP. In the end just a bit of confusion. Sync'ing via WiFi just fine now.

    Hi @macbuz,

I'm sorry to hear that you've been having such trouble getting things synced up! You're right, there are multiple ways to sync 1Password data. This is done to allow users to select the option that best meets their needs.

I'm glad you were able to get Wi-Fi sync working properly. I hope that 1Password works perfectly for you from now on, but if you have any further questions or concerns, we're here to help!
