I purchased a MAC license for my iMAC but I see that I can't sync with my iOS devices using iCloud. Did I buy the wrong version for the iMAC and can I fix this problem?

If you purchased the Mac license from AgileBits, you are right that it won't sync via iCloud. It will work fine with Dropbox, however, as will your iOS devices.

If you bought your license from AgileBits within the last 30 days, they will issue you a refund if you want to use iCloud, so that you can buy a new license through the Mac App Store. Someone from AgileBits will likely be along to ask you to confirm your wishes.

There is just one quick additional point in case you're not aware of it. 1P for iOS and 1P for Mac are separate products so you do need 1P for iOS on your iOS devices and you can download it from the app store on your iOS devices. Sorry if you already know that.

    Hi @JELJR‌

You've had a couple of informative posts so far.

It's quite correct, iCloud Sync support is now limited to purchases made via Apple stores i.e. the iTunes Store and the Mac App Store (MAS). This is Apple's restrictions so there is no bypassing it.

Now as you purchased 1Password 5 directly from us today you can ask for a refund any time in the next 30 days. In fact if you were to post here confirming this is what you want to do I can process it for you as soon as I see the reply. To attract my attention if you include the text @littlebobbytables‌ in your reply I'll be notified when you post.

That is one solution. If Dropbox is a possibility we're happy to work with your in setting that up, it's completely your choice. Dropbox has a couple of advantages over iCloud.

    • Dropbox is cross-platform, working on Windows and Android as well as iOS and OS X.
    • Dropbox allows a person to share secondary vaults with others (not possible with iCloud Sync).

If either of those are applicable to you it might be the case that iCloud support isn't actually what you want anyway but the choice is yours.

Let us know what you would like to do.
